GMA Rig Connector v4.3 for Windows

Welcome to the GMA Rig Connector!

The GMA Rig Connector links the GMA Spot Monitor directly to your
amateur radio transceiver.

With a single click on a spot frequency, your radio automatically
switches to the correct frequency and operating mode.

Quick Start
-----------

1. Install Hamlib.
2. Copy the appropriate configuration file to config.json.
3. Adjust the COM port if required.
4. Run start-gma-rig.bat.
5. Open https://www.gma.rocks/rigtest/
6. You're on the air!

You need:

-   Windows 10 or Windows 11
-   Hamlib 4.7 or newer
-   A supported amateur radio transceiver
-   A working CAT connection (USB or serial)

2. Which connection mode should you use?

The GMA Rig Connector supports two operating modes.

rigctld (recommended)

Recommended for most users.

Advantages:

-   Multiple applications can share CAT control.
-   Only one connection to the COM port is required.
-   Ideal together with WSJT-X, Swisslog or other logging software.

serial

The connector communicates directly with the transceiver using Hamlib.

This mode is useful for testing or if the GMA Rig Connector is the only
application controlling your radio.

3. Installation

1.  Extract the ZIP archive.
2.  Install Hamlib.
3.  Find your Hamlib rig model using:

rigctl -l

Examples:

1034 Yaesu FTDX1200 1032 Yaesu FTDX5000 3087 Xiegu X6100 / X9100

4. Configuration files

The package includes several example configuration files:

-   config-template.json
-   config-xiegu-x6100.json
-   config-yaesu-ftdx1200-serial.json
-   config-yaesu-ftdx1200-rigctld.json

Copy the appropriate file to config.json and adjust the COM port, baud
rate or IP address if necessary.

5. Configure your transceiver

Xiegu X6100 / X9100

Recommended setting:

order = mode-first

Yaesu FTDX1200

Recommended setting:

order = freq-first delay_after_freq = 250

The Yaesu automatically selects the default band mode during a band
change. Using

Frequency → Delay → Mode

ensures the requested operating mode is applied reliably.

6. Starting the Rig Connector

rigctld:

start-gma-rig.bat

serial:

start-connector.bat

Then open:

https://www.gma.rocks/rigtest/

7. Testing

Click any frequency in the Spot Monitor.

Your transceiver should automatically switch to the selected frequency
and operating mode.

8. Troubleshooting

No connection?

→ Check the COM port.

Wrong frequency?

→ Verify the Hamlib rig model.

Yaesu remains in USB?

→ Use:

order = freq-first

delay_after_freq = 250
